Adopting A DIY Attitude For 2014

Life’s lesson’s can be often simple and yet quiet meaningful, if you choose to learn from it!

It was a normal Saturday and for some reason I just wanted to get certain things done.  I have a Chinese fan which I was given as a gift and it has by lying around the house for the past 5 yrs, and a heavy mirror which I bought, which has been lying against my living room wall for the past 2½ years.   I know, unbelievable…. but for some reason I just thought at the time I needed someone else to put the mirror up due to its size and weight, as for the fan, it needed other things on the wall to compliment it, I felt…..WRONG!!  All they needed was an aptitude and willingness to have a go. So today was the day, and they are now on the wall, as they should be!!

I was so happy to get these things up its was untrue.  All it took was a little , time, common sense, and determination ( the screws were a bit testing at times), but I got there in the end.  I was so happy, and I could not believe it took me so long!!  Basically, because Do It Yourself (DIY) was never my strong point or passion.  So it was easier to say I would get someone to do it for me, but I never asked and guess what, no one offered either!! So there they stayed as beautiful as they were and as close as they were.  They were never fully appreciated until this wonderful Saturday.

So I wondered, what else do I have in my life, beautiful yet out of position and totally under utilised and out of position?  Do I have gifts or things already in my grasp that I feel require someone else, because they are more qualified, more suitable than me? Hence my post ‘It’s Never To Late.’

Adopting a DIY Attitude For 2014, that is definitely my plan.  Goals, and their progression are down to me/you alone.  They will sit in the wonders of our hearts and minds until the day we decided to make them happen.  No one else can do for you what you are not willing to do for yourself.  So yeh, whatever it takes, if you can DIY, then DIY. God will deal with everything else that is totally outside of our control.

No one else can do for you what you are not willing to do for yourself.

Be the Change you want to be.  It would be nice to hear about what finally got done for you?

About aquene7

I am a mother, a grandmother and Christian, all an essential part of who I am. I happened upon Blogging and found out how to mesh something I have done through out my life which was encouraging those who were friends and family and my love of writing. In doing my usual personal development I came in to the world of coaching and totally fell in love with it and I am currently studying to become a Personal Performance/Life Coach with The Coaching Academy. I absolutely love writing and thought this would be good way to combine these three passions in one place. I hope you find my blog does what it says on the tin, which is to encourage readers with positive and motivational posts:-) Update: 23/3/14: I finally decided to put a face to my blog:-)
